It's not easy keeping up with Joey. He's always on the road, tending to numerous projects all around Mindanao Island.
Joey invites the SIB crew to witness an historic moment at Balatee Bay, a small fishing village on the shores of Eastern Mindanao. Environmental degradation is killing off fish stocks that villagers rely on for food. Joey and village members filmed illegal logging operations on the mountain above, which are believed to be the source of a runoff of highly-mineralized sediment into the bay. The video is shown to the villagers in their make-shift cinema - a projector and screen set up on a basketball court.

Joey is excited about using portable projectors to benefit local communities. This would be something very historic for the village. This is the first time that they would be seeing a wide screen right [at the] foot of the mountain. For the first time ever, the villagers see images of their own community on a screen in their basketball court. If the Western world has the Imax, this could be the Imax of the barrio.
